ABOUT ME

Rachel Cullen didn't take the obvious path to becoming a novelist — and she wouldn't have it any other way.

After graduating from Northwestern University with Honors in Religious Studies, Rachel earned her MBA from NYU Stern School of Business with a focus on marketing and finance. She spent over a decade in brand strategy consulting, living and working across San Francisco, London, Brussels, and Manhattan — a career that was equal parts exhilarating and exhausting, and one that gave her an endless supply of material for the complicated, ambitious, deeply human characters she would eventually put on the page.

The shift to fiction writing came naturally. Rachel has always been an avid reader, drawn to stories about women navigating the messy, wonderful, complicated terrain of real life. When she finally sat down to write her own, she discovered something she hadn't expected: she loved making up characters. Giving them flaws, histories, secrets, and the kind of friendships that hold even when everything else falls apart. That discovery turned into one book, then another, then eight — each one set in the worlds she knows best, from the Hamptons to the Upper West Side to the leafy suburbs of Connecticut.

Today, Rachel lives in Westchester, New York, with her husband, three teenage children, and three Labrador retrievers. When she's not writing, she can be found coaching youth lacrosse — proof that the woman who once navigated corporate boardrooms in three countries is equally at home on a muddy field on a Saturday morning.

Her eighth novel, Country Club Summer, was published on June 9, 2026.
